Through a call addressed to the members of the Expert Group on Policies & Programmes relevant to EU Space, Defence and Aeronautics Industry, Space Y was invited by DG DEFIS to respond to the call for commitments “Transition pathway for the aerospace ecosystem”.
The update of the EU Industrial Strategy (2021) highlighted the need to accelerate the green and digital transitions and boost resilience in the various industrial ecosystems. In this context, a co-creation process was launched to design a transition pathway for the aerospace ecosystem.
The transition pathway for the aerospace ecosystem was published on 7 June 2024. It proposes several actions grouped under six main building blocks, to support creating a more resilient, greener, more digital and competitive aerospace ecosystem.
Through this call, Space Y has committed to take concrete actions to support the resilience and competitiveness of the aerospace sector. The association engaged to continue enabling dialogue among the European space downstream industry and European institutions and agencies to identify burdens and promote measures to overcome them, to keep supporting SMEs, and to multiply efforts to raise awareness of innovative applications based on space data.
